Meet Dr. Lindsay A. Parker
A rural Alberta farm girl, Dr. Parker grew up in her mother's mixed animal practice in Three Hills. She always knew she wanted to become a veterinarian and used this passion to explore the various avenues the profession offers as a high school student through the Green Certificate program from Olds College, volunteering throughout Alberta, Equine 4H, and showing her family's Suffolk sheep. For her volunteering efforts, including the creation of the paper recycling program at Three Hills School, she earned multiple coveted scholarships including becoming a Canadian Millenium Laureate. Following high school graduation, she moved across the country to attend McGill University's Animal Science program. There, Dr. Parker continued her volunteering path by becoming involved in multiple councils and fundraisers. She travelled to Botswana and South Africa for wildlife medicine programs, including Students Without Borders and Students in the Wild. Some of her favourite experiences came from being a student worker in the Macdonald Campus Dairy barn and competing on the McGill Intercollegiate Woodsmen team (i.e competitive lumberjack).
Following obtaining her Bachelor of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences degree from McGill University, Dr. Parker graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan in 2015. She then began her specialty training journey with multiple internships across North America, including Ontario, Virginia, and Texas, before completing her Masters of Biomedical Science and residency of Anesthesia and Analgesia at the University of Missouri in 2023. During her residency, Dr. Parker was extremely fortunate to foster amazing relationships with several accredited zoos and offer her services whilst gaining further experience. She returned home to Alberta in 2023 to work in private practice before starting Fi02 Parker Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia Services. She became board-certified in veterinary anesthesia and analgesia in 2025.
Dr. Parker enjoys the challenge of critical patient anesthesia and multi-modal analgesia with the use of locoregional blocks, as well as teaching technician/technologists and students to become more confident and knowledgeable in their anesthesia skills. Forever curious, she is currently undergoing certification for veterinary acupuncture with Chi University.
Her favourite patients to anesthetize are the weird and wonderful including zoo, exotic and wildlife patients. In addition to farm animals, equine, dogs and cats, Dr. Parker has experience anesthetizing small exotic pets, as well as several species of ungulates, black bears, Western low-land gorillas, Eastern Black rhinoceros, birds of prey, reptiles and large exotic felids including cougar and tiger species. Wildlife conservation is dear to Dr. Parker's heart and it is her dream to continue working with these amazing animals throughout her career.
She is currently licensed in Alberta and British Columbia.
Dr. Parker has a perfect angel baby Dalmatian named Lottie Lou, a blind Bengal named Betty Boop, and a Sphynx named Pasha. Along with her husband, Chad, she loves to travel as much as possible and is extremely proud to have explored all 7 continents!
